Council on Human Rights in Malvare
Ambassador Tauren Walers of Zamastan
Ladies and Gentlemen of the council, as the current situation surrounding the threats by the Malvarian government towards the Vulkarians has intensified, it is the optimal time to highlight that the government of Malvare and the authoritarian state in control of this southeast Ausianan nation, specifically how they have long oppressed their people and subjugated them to some of the worst human rights violations in recent world history.
We cannot downplay or ignore the fact that Malvarians are starving, enslaved, and discriminated against by their own leadership. Malvare remains one of the world’s most repressive states. A single-party system continues to exercise almost total political control. The government restricts all civil and political liberties, including freedom of expression, assembly, association, and religion. It also prohibits all organized political opposition, independent media, civil society, and trade unions.
The government routinely uses arbitrary arrest and punishment of crimes, torture in custody, and executions to maintain fear and control over the population. The government and security agencies systematically extract forced, unpaid labor from its citizens— including women, children, detainees, and prisoners—to build infrastructure, implement projects, and carry out activities and events extolling the ruling authoritarian leaders.
The government continued its tight restrictions on unauthorized cross-border travel, collaborated with foreign authorities and criminal syndicates to capture and return Malvarian refugees, and punished Malvarians for making contact with nations such as Vulkaria and Zamastan. The government fails to protect or promote the rights of numerous at-risk groups, including women, children, and people with disabilities.
Malvare also sponsors insurgent terror groups around the world, most notably in Vulkaria, where the Malvarian Liberation Front has killed thousands over the past four decades and has waged war against the Vulkarian government, people, and allies. Zamastan has lost tens of thousands of soldiers fighting these terrorists since 1982, and each time we have pushed them back, the Malvarian government sponsors them further, encouraging their terrorist actions. In January, these terrorists killed thousands in one day across the globe. They have been defeated and expelled from Vulkaria, but the Malvarian government harbors the remaining loyalists to the group to more rights, comfort, and satisfaction than their own people.
Council, I request an international condemnation against the government of Malvare, as well as a task force to demand investigation into the Malvarian regime. I demand of the Malvarian government to allow international investigators to be granted amnesty to visit and report on the human rights situations in Malvare. If this request is not granted, Zamastan will instill more crippling sanctions than the ones currently in place, as well as a complete monetary freeze on their international banking funds through Zamastanian-based hedge groups.
