The Council of Five Origins
Five Hundred Years ago, in 1509 Anno Domini, five high-ranking soldiers in the Tervius City Guard overthrew the Independent City Council and established the Pentarchy, a five-way monarchy originally controlling Tervius alone. From 1436 to the Pentarchy's formation, the Tervali Islands were divided into Free cities and small local governments with very little power or centralization. Most of these local governments were democratic, with a few Plutocracies spread across the islands as well.
The Pentarchy took advantage of this division and rapidly conquered Southern Terva(The main island of the Tervali Islands). In 1514, the entirety of Terva was ruled by the Pentarchy. The five members of the Pentarchy, needing a claim to justify ruling the Tervali Islands, claimed that they were the Knights of the Eianist Guardians, and that they were sent to guide the Tervali Islands. Unfortunately for them, their oppressive autocratic rule wasn't popular with much of the Tervali, and large-scale rebellions rose up in 1532.
When the Rebellions were closing in on Tervius, the Members of the Pentarchy saw the writing on the wall. They took a good portion of their wealth and just... disappeared. All that was found were the Pentarchy's crown jewels, some art, and some clothes. The Pentarchy had vanished from history.
The Modern Era: Factions and Instability
Now, in 2021, the Descendents of the Pentarchy, as well as several other factions, are rising up against the Tervali Republic to try to seize the country. Some are Political, some are Economic, Some are Military. And the Pentarchy shall kick it all off, in a bold stroke. This provides an opportunity for foreign nations to influence the Tervali island's future.
Some Rules:
1. No WMDs
2. If you want to commit forces(If this RP gets there), please ask!
3. Please Limit graphic content to acceptable levels.
4. No future tech or Godmodding (If you don't know, ask!)
5. Please ask before you write the death of anyone else's character
6. I'm open to pretty much anything. If you have a story idea, ask!
As the story starts up, clear factions shall emerge for you to support. If you want to participate, Post here or DM me and I'll let you know some more information!
